Consignment Sales Service

Carrsmith offers a consignment sales service for private individuals wanting to sell their car, but not wanting to be bothered with the burdensome task of selling their vehicle themselves. We are located on North Main Street, the area zoned for car sales in Gainesville, Florida- across the street from the Saturn, Chrysler, Subaru, Acura, Toyota and Ford franchises. All the major dealers in Gainesville, Florida are located on North Main Street. This is where people from all over the area come to shop for cars!

• Avoid answering phone calls at all hours.

• Avoid having to find time in your busy schedule to show the vehicle.

• Avoid strangers breaching your privacy by visiting your home.

• Avoid diminishing the enjoyment of your time off work, weekends and holidays because of having to wait near the phone for prospects to call.

• Avoid the inconvenience and frustration of rearranging your schedule for prospects who say they are "coming right over," and then never show up.

• Avoid having "tire kickers" and unqualified people (those without the means to purchase your vehicle) come to your house for no other reason than to "see what it's like" to drive a BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Infiniti, or Lexus, etc.

• Avoid having to leave your valued possession on the side of a highway, or in a store parking lot with a "For Sale" sign on your windshield, only to experience the inconvenience and expense of having your car ticketed and towed for illegal parking.

• Sales personnel will be on site with your vehicle 6 days a week.

• Our office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

• Our phones are answered from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. by a professional courteous sales personnel ready to do business; not a receptionist who'll take a message, answering service, or answering machine.

• Your vehicle will be displayed on "North Main" in Gainesville, Florida where millions of dollars are spent yearly to draw people from all over North Central Florida to come shop for their next vehicle.

• Our sales people will qualify prospective buyers for your vehicle. 

• Carrsmith is affiliated with Campus USA (the University of Florida Credit Union) as an indirect lender. We can help obtain financing for "your buyer" through Campus USA and a number of other lending institutions to expedite the sale of your vehicle. 

• We will advertise your vehicle for you via our website.

• We can expedite the sale of your vehicle by adding an extra measure of confidence for prospective buyers. We have been in business since 1982. We are highly selective in what we offer for sale and our customers know it!  Being firmly grounded in the technical end of the car business our customers know that when we offer a vehicle for sale, they can trust that it has been review by someone seeing beyond mere cosmetic appearances and not someone with just a cursory knowledge or cars, the different vehicle models, or what they may have read in a recent car magazine. 

• We will advertise your vehicle at no charge to you.

• We are a CarFax Dealer and will provide a free CarFax report to your vehicle's prospective buyers and offer prospective buyers the CarFax Buyback Guarantee, if your vehicle qualifies.

• We offer a Wynn's nationwide mechanical repair extended warranty on your vehicle, if it qualifies depending on year and mileage. This warranty is re-assignable for a nominal fee, if your buyer later wants to re-sell your vehicle.
  

Here's how it works:

• You pay no fees. We obtain our fee from the buyer.

• We evaluate your car and come to an agreement with you on the amount you will receive when the vehicle is sold.

• We retain exclusive right of sale while the vehicle is on consignment. You may refer prospects to us.

• We will advertise your vehicle on the internet, CarFax and our website. If while your car is on consignment, you wish to help expedite the sale by advertising the vehicle independently your ad must be cleared by us first, and our contact information must be used exclusively.

• Before bringing your vehicle to us make sure it is detailed and ready to show.

• Before it is put on the lot, your vehicle must be free of major mechanical problems that would prevent the vehicle from being driven. For example, bad wheel bearings, transmissions, axles, engine problems, drivability or runability problems, check engine lights and other dash warning lights, etc.

• You must agree to give us 10 days written notice to remove vehicle from consignment. 

• We retain the title, if not with lien-holder, as required by state law.

• If you do not have the title, we will need the lien-holder information and account number.

• You will retain your license plate while the vehicle is on consignment. We will use a dealer tag when road testing the vehicle.

• As required by Florida law, you will keep the car insured- the risk on our lot is probably less than if the vehicle were parked at the mall. When road tested, a member of our staff will be onboard.
